A REMINDER:

Upon release of your score on the AP English Language and Composition Examination, your final grade for English 6 will be adjusted, depending on whether or not you receive a 4 or a 5 for this to take place. When I return in September, I will submit the grade changes. Keep in mind that several of you did not exert much effort throughout the school-year and/or you interfered with the education of others-for those who fall into this category-we will discuss what changes if any should be made upon your return to school. If you have engaged in plagiarism and/or cheating during an assessment at any time during the school year, requesting a higher grade- based on your AP score- will also have to be discussed.

STUDENTS IN ALL THREE BANDS: YOU MUST BRING IN A PENCIL TO USE ON THE "BUBBLE-SHEET" FOR THE CITR 50+ MC ASSESSMENT on THURSDAY, 12 JUNE. Diedrich is no longer supplying them to students...
ATTENTION A-BAND STUDENTS:

The CITR assessment (50+) Multiple Choice Questions will begin promptly at 0813. If you arrive after the start of class, you will NOT be allocated any additional time after-school, regardless of the excuse. (Wake-up 15 minutes earlier-leave your home 15 minutes earlier-arrive to class prior to 0813-perhaps, for the first-time this school-year!) NO EXCUSES! NO EXCEPTIONS! NO NOTES FROM MOM OR DAD!

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

A Reminder: On Thursday, 13 June, ALL Bands will be administered a 50+ assessment on The Catcher in the Rye. Sadly, I have determined-based upon your Dialectical Journal Assignment-that many students did NOT read this text in its entirety! For those who did, you will do well. For those who did not, ...

Thursday, June 5, 2014

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
Too many students disregarded my directive to turn-in the "hard-copy" of the CITR Journal assignment on Wednesday, 4 June-even though their class was not scheduled to meet. As a result, I will deduct points for not complying with this requirement-unless you were absent from school-I will verify this with the Attendance Office. Furthermore, how is it possible to respond in one-two sentences in an analysis/discussion of a specific quote. Obviously, several students-in this college-level class- continue to submit mediocre/below average work. Much to my dismay, for the "intratextual" examples, students neglected to include another quote (on the right-hand side) that made a "connection" to the quote provided on the left-hand side of the journal...

Saturday, May 31, 2014

TEXTBOOK COLLECTION: Begins on Monday, 2 June (Make-sure your name has been written in the book).

Friday, May 23, 2014

CITR Independent Reading Assignment: Upload to turnitin.com by 11:59 PM on 2 June; turn-in hard copy on Wednesday, 4 June-ALL BANDS-A and B Band students will hand deliver their hard-copy to Diedrich in Room 404-NO EXCUSES/NO EXCEPTIONS!

Refer to the handout distributed in class for the specific details of this assignment.

Monday, May 12, 2014

EVERYONE HAD AN AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO SUBMIT THE AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL SYNTHESIS ESSAY  TO TURNITIN.COM AND TO TURN IN A "HARD-COPY" OF THAT ESSAY. AS OF 1545 HOURS TODAY, I disabled the setting  permitting students to upload this assignment since some experienced difficulty doing so last week. This was done for those students who turned-in a "hard-copy" of the assignment last Tuesday. Remarkably, several students did not complete this assignment! NO EXCUSES! I will not accept this assignment late (refer to class contract) nor will I change the "0" to a passing grade.

Sunday, April 27, 2014

Just a reminder: The Synthesis Essay (Chapter 4- The American High School page 248 in your textbook - must be uploaded to turnitin.com by 11:59 PM Monday night. I changed the due date from Sunday to Monday. Also, you MUST turn in a "hard-copy" of this assignment as you enter the class room on Tuesday, 29 April. Do not ask for permission to use the printer in the back of the class room.

This assignment was posted approximately TEN days ago [see below].

You have another assignment due on Tuesday-you have been reminded about this assignment in class since Wednesday [See assignment below-"DUE 29 April..."] I will NOT have EXTRA copies of this assignment available for distribution. IF you enter the classroom prepared with the THREE copies of "QUESTION 2" you will receive an "A", {Please write your "full-name" on each of the passages-they will be collected at the end of the BAND.) IF you enter the classroom without these copies, you will receive a "0". Even though I have not EXPLICITLY directed you to annotate each of the PROMPTS and each of the PASSAGES, please feel free to do so.

Review session for AP Language Exam QUESTION 1 will take place on Thursday, 1 May (1530-1700) on Friday, 2 May (1430-1600).

AP Review Topics and Dates

AP Language and Composition: General Review Session
(CLICK on Link for a Listing of the Topics that will be Reviewed.)

NOTE: NO student will be admitted more than 10 minutes late for scheduled time indicated. Furthermore, I urge you to use the restroom prior to the start of the session since once you exit the classroom-you will not be permitted to re-enter the classroom. Also, you will not be permitted to obtain an additional "folder" with the resources for the session in order to give it to a "friend" who is not present for the session.  In fact, initially, the folder will contain a minimal of the handouts for the topics indicated on the topic review sheet. Materials will be disseminated throughout our time together as we approach each of the review topics. Keep in mind that those individuals who disrupt the session by engaging in conversations and/or those individuals who display their phones will be asked to leave the classroom-they will NOT be given a "second-chance" to improve their conduct.

General Review Session: Thursday, 24 April from 1530 to 1700 hours.
General Review Session: Friday, 25 April from 1430 to 1600 hours.
General Review Session: Monday, 28 April from 1530 to 1700 hours.

I will only accept a maximum of 36 students for each of the review sessions-arrive early and you will be guaranteed a seat...

Please Note: Specific Review Sessions for each of the Essay Questions will be announced shortly (Q1: The Synthesis Question; Q2: The Rhetorical Analysis Question; Q3: The Argument Question)

MOCK EXAMINATION, Saturday, 26 April 0900 to 1215'
The exam is allocated 3 hours and 15 minutes. I am asking EVERYONE to arrive by 0845 so that EVERYONE can begin the exam promptly at 0900. Once the exam begins anyone who arrives late will be directed to another room where you will WAIT for other individuals who are tardy before I start your examination. Bring your own coffee and a snack since they will NOT be provided by Diedrich and/or the school.

MOCK EXAMINATION, Wednesday, 30 April (HOURS TBA)

Wonders Never Cease...
Why would a group during our last cooperative learning activity take out a phone to "Google" the name of the title for the assigned essay so that they would be able to retrieve the answers to the multiple-choice questions? Diedrich is not "clueless" when he is walking around monitoring group activities. Recall how he insisted that everyone underline key words in each of the responses for the purpose of identifying a "distractor"? This particular group that will remain nameless (for now) simply wrote that word "distractor" next to two of the responses for each of the multiple choice questions, without "marking-up" any of the words in the answer choice. Why did Diedrich spend so much class time on this specific test-taking strategy-he clearly indicated what he desired from everyone?

I have urged everyone-throughout the school-year-to click on "Older Posts" and review the resources that have been posted.
This is strongly recommended in the preparation for your AP examination on Friday, 9 May. (You may desire to take a journey back in time, perhaps-even to the first-post that appears on this blog...)

A Closer Look at Logical Fallacies

Due Tuesday, 29 April 2014:

1) Please print out and read Question 2 (page 9) from the following link: America Needs its Nerds

2) Please print out and read Question 2 (page 3) from the following link: Alfred M. Green

3) Please print out and read Question 2 (page 10) from the following link: Florence Kelley

For each of these prompts, please come to class with a clear understanding of the prompt's purpose. We will work in class on deconstructing the prompt--looking at how each passage is composed. Feel free to annotate the text as desired-remember that this involves writing notes in the margins,,, You will not be directed to write a “written” response-you will “simply” share orally your analyses of the passages. If desired, examine the student samples released by the College Board.

I will check that you have entered Room 404 with your copies of these passages. Be advised that I will collect these passages prior to the end of the Band to prevent the "sharing" of your work with students in the other Bands.

Schedule for Week of 31 March

Just a Reminder-for ALL Bands-on Monday, 31 March- you will take an assessment on Kincaid's essay "On Seeing England for the First Time". (Review Rhetorical Terms/Devices.)

SAT Vocabulary QUIZ List 16 on Thursday, 3 April.

YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO IF YOU NEGLECT TO ENTER ROOM 404 WITHOUT YOUR TEXTBOOK! DO NOT ASK FOR PERMISSION TO GO TO YOUR LOCKER TO RETRIEVE IT-PERMISSION TO DO SO WILL BE DENIED! Why do the SAME students enter the classroom without their textbook?

For Tuesday, 1 April-Read The Destruction of Culture (1041-1048)  by Chris Hedges and VIEW the following: http://aplang2011.edublogs.org/files/2010/07/06hedges.pdf
 (Part I)
BE PREPARED FOR A QUIZ ON THIS ESSAY AND THE PRESENTATION BY HEDGES.

The Destruction of Culture (Part II)

The Destruction of Culture (EXPLORING THE TEXT) QUESTIONS PAGES 1047-1048

You will "link" Hedges' The Destruction of Culture  with Vowell's The Partly Cloudy Patriot (1057). This is an assignment that will require "close reading" of both essays-even though-you have been provided with a considerable amount of background information on the former essay-along with suggested responses to this essay-see "Exploring the Text" discussion.
At any moment during your class this week, I may distribute a writing "prompt" for these essays and/or a MC Question assessment for one OR both of these assigned readings. STUDENTS IN ALL OF THE BANDS SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED A CLOSE READING OF BOTH ESSAYS BY THE TIME THEY ENTER THE CLASSROOM ON TUESDAY, 1 APRIL! NO EXCUSES! NO EXCEPTIONS!  BE PREPARED TO WRITE AND/OR DISCUSS-YOU WILL BE "LOST" IF YOU NEGLECT TO BRING YOUR TEXTBOOK TO CLASS-AS REQUIRED!

"On Seeing England for the First Time"

You may OR may not see a question or two on your multiple choice quiz scheduled for Monday, 31 March

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

ATTENTION G-Band: Just a reminder-the Synthesis Essay Template is due as you enter the class on Thursday, 13 March-under no circumstance will I accept this assignment late. Furthermore, you will also receive an assignment on Wednesday that will be due on Thursday, 13 March-as you enter the class-you will begin this response in class on Wednesday. (Dear Parents: The Synthesis Essay Template was assigned on Monday, 10 March. Soon, I will request that your child turn-in his/her required loose-leaf binder for my review. Remarkably, several of the children, perhaps, your child has not maintained a binder since Day 1 of class. This requirement was clearly indicated in the class contract signed by parent and child (student). Once I record a "0" in Jupiter, that "0" will remain. No excuses, No exceptions. The children are required to bring the loose-leaf binder with them to class EVERY DAY!)
Please review my posts regarding this requirement.  I will not permit students to go to their locker to retrieve their binder and/or permit them to turn-it in at a later date.

Synthesis Essay: Citing Sources

Sunday, March 9, 2014

ATTENTION: Just a reminder, your Logical Fallacy Quiz scheduled for Monday, 10 March (see below) has been postponed until further notice.

A and B Band: Your Synthesis Essay template assignment for either the NCAA or the Informational Technology sources is due on Monday, 10 March. I will distribute the templates to G-Band on Monday, 10 March which will be due on Wednesday, 12 March.

NO SAT VOCABULARY QUIZ THIS WEEK SINCE YOU WILL HAVE A SYNTHESIS  ESSAY TIMED-WRITE ON THURSDAY, 13 MARCH. I RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE REVIEW WHAT I HAVE POSTED ON THIS BLOG-YOU MAY ALSO DESIRE TO VISIT THE AP ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION EXAMINATION HOMEPAGE IN ORDER TO "CRITIQUE" THE SAMPLE STUDENT PAPERS-WHAT DID THEY DO WELL...

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Dear Students: Soon, you will see your score for the Logical Fallacy Quiz posted on Jupiter (it will not have any "impact" on your cumulative average-this time...). Unfortunately, even though you had two weeks to prepare, many of you waited until Tuesday/Wednesday to prepare-this was quite obvious. You will have a "second" chance on Monday, 10 March to take another Logical Fallacy Quiz. Again, review the power-points posted below and download and print the handout posted. Your quiz will differ slightly-you will be required to match the definition with the specific fallacy as well as to match the fallacy with the example provided.
(Know These Logical Fallacies) [Maximum Time=20 Minutes/NO ADDITIONAL TIME WILL BE ADDED/You will NOT be given time prior to the quiz to review/CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!] Dear Parents: You would be SHOCKED with what I have observed...subsequently, I will have to decline a request to write a college letter of recommendation for these students, perhaps-your child is among the cheaters and plagiarizes...
Schedule for Week of 3 March

NO SAT VOCABULARY QUIZ THIS WEEK

MONDAY, 3 MARCH: WE WILL DISCUSS "A Modest Proposal" along with several other satires. I would like to have several students lead this discussion with the assistance of a "DISCUSSION GUIDE" (Ideally, everyone SHOULD download and print this resource, you will react/respond to the "suggested" responses to the questions identified in this guide. Certainly, we will not address ALL of the questions-you will determine what is discussed-although Diedrich has his "favorite" ones and will most likely direct you to them if not asked by any of your classmates.

TUESDAY, 4 MARCH: TIMED WRITE: A rhetorical analysis of a SATIRE. NOTE: This will be changed to Thursday, 6 March if we have a "SNOW-DAY" on Monday and/or if attendance is low. I urge you to review the power-points that I have posted and to look over the handouts that were distributed in class. Also, visit the AP Language and Composition homepage for previous examinations-focus on Question 2-the sample student papers and the commentary provided (see link that I have previously posted).

WEDNESDAY, 5 MARCH: Discussion of your major project-the Synthesis Research Paper (IF YOU HAVE NOT DOWNLOADED AND PRINTED THIS ASSIGNMENT DO IT NOW!) Related activities will follow for the remainder of the week...

Red Herring vs. Straw Man

How to Spot and Avoid Online Plagiarism
Dear Parents: Diedrich has posted this "guide" so that you can discuss this issue with your child since there are still students in AP English Language and Composition who have consistently engaged in this "endeavor". Perhaps, one of these children is your very own child...Academic institutions will send your child home if this is detected in a college class.

Sunday, February 23, 2014

AP Language and Composition Examination Prompts
(You probably have a copy of this in your three-ring binder, but I recommend that you download it just in case...you will never know when you will be directed to place your three-ring binder in a container in the classroom...this could happen soon...you will NOT be given prior notice!)

BE ADVISED THAT YOU WILL ONLY BE ALLOCATED TWENTY MINUTES TO COMPLETE YOUR LOGICAL FALLACY TEST ON THURSDAY (30 statements for your identification...)

A reminder (see previous post): Bring highlighters/colored pencils to class on Monday, 24 February-your OWN "supply", not what your "table-mate" brings to class.  I consider this a homework assignment and I will grade it as such.

The Doctrine of Academic Freedom
When Diedrich first heard(on FOX News, Sunday morning) about this publication from a senior attending Harvard, he responded with a, "WOW!" and an "Oh, My Gosh!" since he could not believe what the writer was advocating. As a class, we will visit Korn's response and approach it as if it was the Argument Question on the AP Exam. (Defend, Challenge, Qualify). Diedrich has so many questions that he would like to ask this writer and he also has so many concerns...What do you think?
Perhaps, you will also share my reaction...

Synthesis Essay Prompt Assignment: A RESEARCH paper and a SYNTHESIS essay all in one...
Specific due dates for each part/requirement will be announced soon. Familiarize yourself with the links I have previously posted for the Synthesis Essay-a task that I know that everyone has completed.
.(NOTE: I DID NOT OMIT/DELETE THE NAME OF THE TEACHER WHO CREATED THIS PROJECT, BUT I DID MODIFY IT FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE; I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE ACCUSED OF "PLAGIARISM", AN ACT THAT IS STILL PREVALENT IN OUR AP LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION CLASSES.)

Monday, February 17, 2014

Just in case you are tired of watching the Winter Olympics and do not have anything exciting happening in your life, the following will certainly add that excitement:
Critical Thinking Academy: Learn HOW to Think, Not WHAT
to Think (Click-on the download tabs for the "Tutorials" and for the "Podcasts") [You will be on your way to receiving that "5" on the AP Exam...]

Perhaps, some of you have learned  Russian by watching the Olympics and can understand and analyze the video, similarly to what we have done in class. Does it make any difference whether or not a "viewer" can understand the language? I will ask for an analysis when you return. Please help me since I do not know anyone who attends LMGHS who can speak the Russian language... (Rhetorical Device?)

Sunday, February 16, 2014

Schedule for Week of 24 February:

An Introduction to Satire
Bring highlighters and/or colored pencils to class-I am no longer supplying highlighters since they are not returned by many who "borrow" them... (Consider this a "homework" assignment-I will check to see if you have followed my directive.)
Textbooks are NOT required this week.

Logical Fallacy assessment (see videos/power-points below): Thursday, 27 February
(Also, refer to this "supplement" for fallacies not presented on power-points posted below: Logical Fallacies but will appear on your test.
SAT Vocabulary QUIZ on TUESDAY, 25 February (LIST 15) NOT on Thursday!

To acquire more of an understanding of "satire", I have included the links to the following satirical essays/articles that will be discussed in class. Naturally, you will be given an assignment related to these texts. If you view the contents of the above videos prior to your reading, your understanding will be enhanced.
Satire Terms
“The Doctor Won’t See You Now” from The New York Times
“Books Don’t Take You Anywhere” from The Onion
"The Speech of Miss Polly Baker" Benjamin Franklin (also in your textbook on 532)

An in-class read: TBA (One of the most noted and popular SATIRES read in high school and in college...)

Timed Write on Tuesday, 4 March (Question 2) A rhetorical analysis of a Satire.

Visual satire:
OPTIC analysis sheet (Will also be used for the analysis of the "visual" source for Question #1 on the AP Exam-The Synthesis Essay)

An example for your "practice" using OPTIC:

Norman Rockwell's "Freedom from Want" and the parody, "American Thanksgiving"
Analyze this image then decide on an "appropriate" title...

Sunday, February 9, 2014

ATTENTION: Students in ALL Bands must enter the classroom on Monday, 10 February with our course textbook-failure to do so will result in a "0"-this is a HOMEWORK assignment. DO NOT ASK IF YOU CAN GO TO YOUR LOCKER TO RETRIEVE IT! NO EXCUSES! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Saturday, February 8, 2014

Logical Fallacies

View these power-points/videos from a university course:

Soon, you will be "quizzed" on Logical Fallacies. Probably, Tuesday, 25 February.

PARADOX SLIDE SHOW

PARADOX is not always "easy" to understand and/or put into words...not because we do not understand the contradiction, but because we have a difficult time explaining the contradiction and the truth together.

Friday, February 7, 2014

ATTENTION: Your Due Date for the Tan and Rodriguez Assignment (see below) has changed. You now have until Tuesday, 11 February (11:59PM) to upload it to www.turnitin.com. Do not even think about asking for an extension. Furthermore, students in all BANDS must bring to class their textbook-this time I will check-do not ask to go to your locker to retrieve it-you will receive a "0" if you enter my classroom unprepared!

Sunday, February 2, 2014

ANOTHER ONE OF DIEDRICH'S UPDATES (see below): For those of you who would like to get an early start on this assignment that will be submitted to turnitin.com by Sunday, 9 February, just click on the assignment link: Tan and Rodriguez to reveal your writing task. We will read and discuss Tan's Mother Tongue on Tuesday and on your "second-day" that your class meets with me. Be advised that since several individuals continue to PLAGIARIZE, a "new" process will be required as soon as you submit your assignment to turnitinit.com  (just wait until Tuesday, 4 February...).
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT UPDATE: Rather than wait until Tuesday, 4 February to be directed to read Aria: A Memoir of a Bilingual Childhood in preparation for Thursday's lesson on 6 February, I have provided you with a link for that essay. If you have your textbook at home, you may locate it on pages 303-313. Be advised that you will be administered a QUIZ on this essay immediately upon entering the classroom.

Saturday, February 1, 2014

ATTENTION! Diedrich has finally revised the seating charts for the first-marking period of the Spring Semester. No "table-mates" will be sitting anywhere near each other. Under no circumstances will he make any changes as you walk into the classroom on Tuesday, 4 February. You had the opportunity to inform him of  on-going conflicts with any class members so that he would not make him/her your "table-mate".
Schedule for Week of 03 February

ALL STUDENTS IN ALL THREE BANDS MUST BRING THEIR LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION TEXTBOOK TO CLASS EVERYDAY THIS WEEK. IF YOU COME TO CLASS WITHOUT IT, YOU WILL RECEIVE A "0" AS A HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT-NO EXCUSES-NO EXCEPTIONS-NO NOTES FROM PARENTS...

AS OF APPROXIMATELY 1300 HOURS ON SATURDAY, 1 FEBRUARY-I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REPORT INDICATING YOUR RESULTS ON THE ENGLISH REGENTS EXAMINATION-I AM QUITE CERTAIN THAT EVERYONE DID WELL. ONCE I RECEIVE THE RESULTS, PROBABLY EARLY MONDAY MORNING, I WILL IMMEDIATELY POST THE SCORES ON JUPITER.

SAT VOCABULARY QUIZ FOR LIST 14 WILL BE ADMINISTERED ON THURSDAY, 06 FEBRUARY.

A RHETORICAL QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: WHY ARE YOU REQUIRED TO SIGN THE statement printed at the bottom of the front of the answer sheet, indicating that you had no unlawful knowledge of the questions or answers prior to the examination and that
you have neither given nor received assistance in answering any of the questions
during the examination (
taken directly from page 1 of the NYS Regents examination booklet)?

WHAT STANDS OUT FOR DIEDRICH IS THE PHRASE "neither given nor received assistance"... HE WANTS EVERYONE TO PONDER WHAT THIS MEANS...AND THE SUBSEQUENT CONSEQUENCES FOR THOSE WHO ARE GUILTY OF COMMITTING THESE ACTIONS. (You will sign a similar statement on your upcoming AP Examination.)

Saturday, January 25, 2014

ATTENTION: On Monday, 27 January-the day of your English Regents I will seek assistance in the "re-adjustment" of the percentage/weight that is now being calculated for the TGG Journal  on Jupiter. You will surely see a "significant" increase in the cumulative average in response to the grades you have received for this assignment. In addition, presently, the "fifteen" minute Quick-Write is weighted much too heavily and will be reduced appropriately.

Friday, January 17, 2014

ATTENTION: If you were absent on Tuesday, 14 January-you MUST make-up the Quick Write ASAP-after school. Several students have done so already...you know who you are...so approach me immediately to make arrangements to do so. You have until Wednesday, 22 January to complete this assignment- after school.

Analysis of diction-syntax-organization
AP Language and Composition Exam Review
Basics of Analysis

Synthesis Essay

I discovered  these podcasts on another teacher's class blog and felt that  everyone who took the time to "listen" will  benefit. Preferring to hear her voice over mine, I am sure you will appreciate me sharing them with you-take note of how her "suggestions" may differ from what you have read and/or previously heard. You- and you alone- must decide what will work best for you-prior to walking into the examination room on Friday, 10 May at 0730.

A Streetcar Named Desire etext
Homework Assignment: A Streetcar Named Desire A response for Scene 2-Due by 11:59 PM on 10 January 2014

Please Note that Due Date has been changed from 9 January to 10 January.

Monday, January 6, 2014

Amazingly, students are still continuing to attempt to "out-smart" turnitin.com by submitting plagiarized assignments! Sadly, two students from a Band that will remain nameless attempted to do so with the Ethan Frome Realism assignment-most disturbing for me-these two students have committed this reprehensible act previously-together! Furthermore, two students from different Bands submitted similar papers and one student actually submitted a paper with a 98% Originality Report for this assignment and a 77% Originality Report for the Ethan Frome Tragic Love Story assignment.  Disciplinary action must now be taken...
Dear Parents: I have asked for your support regarding this serious situation in several posts on this blog as well as requiring your signature on class and school contracts.

Since these assignments are now considerably past-due, you will not be permitted to upload them to turnitin.com.

Fifty Years of A Streetcar Named Desire

Sunday, January 5, 2014

Please be advised that I do not accept assignments sent to me via email that were required to be uploaded to turnitin. I WILL recognize the date that your assignment was sent, but you must see me ASAP to take the required action (using the computer in Room 404) at the end of the school-day to remedy this situation. This only applies to those students who have emailed me the required assignment in a timely manner. Do not frown or grimace, by now you should be well aware of what is required-NO EXCUSES!
Schedule for Week of January 6

SAT VOCABULARY QUIZ LIST 12 ON Thursday, 9 January.

Please bring your copy of The Great Gatsby and Ethan Frome to class on Monday, 6 January so that they can be returned to the Book Room.

You will not need to bring your AP textbook to class this week.

NOTE: We will read this play as a class in preparation for the NYS Comprehensive English Examination. You will surely remember this play for decades to come...
