For those of you who would like to get an early start on this assignment DUE Tuesday, 2 October, simply click on the title of the essay: On Laziness by Christopher Morley.

(You probably should review the content of Chapter 2 of your textbook. We will do this in class on Thursday and Friday of this week.)

This assignment should be "typed" (Word-processed)-I am disappointed that the same students have consistently turned-in hand-written assignments. Re-read the class-policy handout! You have the opportunity to use the computers and printer in Room 404 during 37 1/2 minutes.

Just a Reminder: ALL Bands-A-B-G will bring the Language of Composition textbook to class on Thursday, 27 September! If you do not comply with this directive, you will receive a "0" for entering my classroom unprepared. Do not ask permission to retrieve it from your locker or from another location. Amazingly, some of the same students from each class have been entering 404 without the required text/binders. I know who you are...

Unspun...Text Annotations
Realizing-that for many students-the task of annotating may not have been required previously-I was "generous" in the awarding of the grade. However, it soon became obvious that students did not refer to Adler's How to Mark a Book nor to the suggestions provided  for the completion of this activity. Furthermore, I indicated that the book would be "collected and evaluated" (words were in bold print). For those individuals who downloaded the text on a "tablet", you are to report to me during 37 1/2 minutes with your device...
(Jupiter grade percentages/calculations will be "re-adjusted" since this assignment was in essence a project.) A "separate" grade for chapter outlines/notes will be entered, accordingly.
Just in case you were wondering why I took so long to enter the grade for your Introductory Letter Assignment:  Prior to reading your letter, I wanted  get to know you first-sitting in my classroom-during our first-week of the semester -although, I do have to admit that I would  glance at the seating chart as I began to read your letter-to visualize who had written the letter.

Many of you have shared similar concerns and I will address these in class.
Schedule for Week of 17 September:

If you did not turn-in the Introductory Letter Homework Assignment, I will accept the late submission ONLY if it is completed during 37 1/2 minutes in Room 404 during my supervision.

NOTE: Since we have a "Band" schedule, some classes will only meet with me twice this week.
Regardless, ALL Bands will have the List 2 Vocabulary Quiz on Friday, 21 September. Recall, for this quiz, you will be tested on Seven of the words from this list and on Three of the words from List 1. (See POSTING below to download and print list 2-you were informed about this previously.)

A-B-and G Bands: Bring textbook to class on Wednesday-Thursday and Friday.

I do stay late on Friday so there should not be any excuses-you will NOT be able to complete this test after this week-after all-others will not be pleased that you have had additional time to prepare. (Your friends may keep you company as long as they do not assist you with the exam.)
